Manchester United put on a dominant show at Molineux wherein Bruno Fernandes inspired them to a 4–1 victory, deepening Wolves' struggles at the bottom of the Premier League table.
Fernandes scored twice, while Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount also found the net as United climbed to sixth. Wolves remain firmly anchored to the foot of the standings with just two points from their opening 15 matches.
It was a tense night both on and off the pitch: Wolves supporters protested against the club's ownership, with many deliberately arriving 15 minutes late and directing chants at Fosun and chairman Jeff Shi. Their frustration grew as United took charge early in the match.
United opened the scoring in the 25th minute as Casemiro dispossessed Andre to allow Fernandes to recover from a slip and squeeze a shot past Sam Johnstone. Wolves almost conceded again moments later, with Mbeumo being denied by Johnstone and a Cunha chance cleared off the line.
Despite United's pressure, Wolves managed an equaliser deep into first-half stoppage time as David Moller Wolfe's cutback bounced into the path of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who stretched to score their first league goal since October 26.
But whatever momentum Wolves gained quickly faded after the break. United emerged revitalized and, within six minutes, regained the lead. Luke Shaw's strong challenge sparked a counterattack, ending with Dalot squaring for Mbeumo to finish into an empty net.
United tightened their grasp on the game in the 62nd minute, with Fernandes lofting an exceptional pass into the box for Mason Mount to sweep home their third. Fernandes followed his assist up with his second of the night to round out a dominant performance and send the traveling supporters — among them world darts champion and United fan Luke Littler — into raptures.
For Wolves, defeat compounded an already dire campaign, with tensions between supporters and the club's hierarchy growing louder.
