Oman's innings folded early as they never found the rhythm, after being set back by a brutal powerplay of 23/4 after six overs, to say the least. Muzarabani and the Zimbabwean pace battery kept them in check from the very beginning.
A brief stand from V Shukla (28) and Sufyan Mehmood (22) gave a glimmer of life, but Oman couldn’t rotate the strike. Their reviews didn’t help either including Mehmood getting dismissed in the 16th over. Oman were bowled out for 103 in 19.5 overs-a total that never threatened.
Zimbabwe replied serenely and effectively. They got off to a good start, 43/2 in the powerplay. It was a case of early wickets coming, which was followed by Brian Bennett's 30 and Sean Williams/BRM Taylor's retired hurt 31 stitching a mature partnership to steady the chase.
Taylor retired hurt at 98/2, but the game was by then well out of Bangladesh's reach. They overhauled the target in a mere 13.3 overs, ending at 106/2 with 39 balls to spare, underlining their dominance.
