Australia was never looking comfortable while chasing 208. Pakistan’s bowlers started off strongly, reducing Australia to 41/3 in the powerplay. Although extras helped Australia reach 50 in 7.1 overs, wickets kept flowing at regular intervals.

A successful review by Pakistan saw the dismissal of Marcus Stoinis in the 9th over, which further shattered Australia’s hopes. At the drinks break, Australia was struggling at 60/4, with Cameron Green fighting a lone battle.
