The start of the day saw the West Indies side looking to carry on with their overnight innings. However, the bowlers completely dominated, and they reached 50 runs in 16.6 overs. Yet, they were losing wickets at regular intervals.
At 70/5, there were drinks, with KAR Hodge still struggling on 25. The West Indies attempted to use reviews to appeal against some deliveries, but luck was not on their side.

At 42.6 overs, a successful review for a LBW against JP Greaves removed another vital batsman for New Zealand.
The visiting side finally fell bowled out for 128 in 46.2 overs, with KAJ Roach remaining unbeaten on 5. A small target was all that New Zealand required in order to win.
