Delhi Capitals vs Kolkata Knight Riders turned into a one-sided contest as Finn Allen produced a breathtaking unbeaten century to guide Kolkata Knight Riders to a commanding 8-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in Delhi.

After being asked to bat first, Delhi Capitals made a strong start during the powerplay, reaching 55/1 in six overs. Pathum Nissanka looked in excellent touch from the beginning, playing aggressive shots all around the ground. Delhi crossed the 50-run mark in just 5.1 overs as Nissanka dominated the KKR bowling attack.

The momentum, however, shifted dramatically after the powerplay. KKR bowlers tightened their lines and triggered a middle-order collapse. At the first strategic timeout, Delhi were 77/2, but wickets continued to tumble rapidly afterward. Nissanka completed a quick-fire half-century off 29 balls, smashing five fours and three sixes, yet lacked support from the other end.

A crucial review by Kolkata Knight Riders during the 13th over helped maintain pressure, and Delhi Capitals slipped further to 96/5 by the 14th over. Despite some late resistance, the home side never truly recovered from the collapse and finished with a below-par total of 142/8 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 143, KKR started cautiously but quickly accelerated despite losing two early wickets in the powerplay. Finn Allen then took complete control of the chase with an explosive display of clean hitting. Alongside Cameron Green, Allen rebuilt the innings brilliantly and ensured there was no pressure on the visitors.

Allen reached his half-century in just 32 balls before shifting into another gear. The third-wicket partnership crossed both 50 and 100 runs in quick time as Delhi bowlers struggled to contain the assault. The New Zealand batter eventually hammered a sensational century off only 47 deliveries, smashing 5 fours and an incredible 10 sixes.

KKR comfortably chased down the target at 147/2 in just 14.2 overs, sealing victory with 34 balls remaining. Finn Allen remained unbeaten on 100 and deservedly earned the Player of the Match award for one of the most destructive innings of the IPL 2026 season.
