Australia Clinch Ashes 2025 with Dominant 8-Wicket Victory
Australia sealed the Ashes 2025 series 2-0 as they won against England by eight wickets and chased down the required 65 runs with ease on the fourth day. Despite a fighting half-century from Ben Stokes, it was once again England failing to apply pressure on a clinical Australian unit.
England Fight but Fall Short Again
England resumed their innings, looking to build a competitive lead, but they found themselves under pressure early. They reached 150/?? in 41.1 overs with 11 extras, but wickets continued to tumble at regular intervals.
This was followed by a short resistance from Ben Stokes and Will Jacks, who stitched a patient 50-run partnership for the 7th wicket off 132 balls. At the drinks break, England stood at 162/6, with Stokes on 19 and Jacks on 13.

Australia Cruise in the Chase
Australia's second innings got off to a confident start. At dinner, they were already cruising at 33/0 in just 5 overs, with Travis Head on 19 and Jake Weatherald on 10.
England reviewed a decision against Weatherald in the 6th over, but the umpire's call stood. Australia crossed 50 in just 8.3 overs, showing positive intent in the small chase.
Although two wickets fell, the target was just too small to trouble the visitors as Australia comfortably reached 69/2, winning the match by 8 wickets and taking an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the Ashes 2025 series.
